When’s the last time you tested the speed of your mortgage website?
For 99% of you that answer may be never. With how much weight there is placed on the load time and other general best practices desired by Google you are potentially leaving money, ranking and an optimal user experience(money) on the table.
Mobile Experience & Load Times
53% of mobile visitors abandon pages that take more than 3 seconds to load. Even worse, or better if your mortgage website is optimized, 87% of mobile users will abandon your site if there’s a 2 second delay or more in load time. Ideally your site should load for mobile visitors in about a half-second.
As attention spans continue to shrink, so should the load time of your site but most website owners and even website developers unfortunately don’t take this into account when building websites but rather add plugins on top of widgets on top of plugins that contribute to bad user-experiences and unfortunately, lost conversions aka revenue.
Is your website slow or not optimized?
Good news, it’s easy to find out. All you need to do is checkout Google’s Pagespeed Insights and enter your URL. They’ll provide 2 different reports, 1 for mobile and 1 for desktop. The link provided earlier in the article will outline and define all the relevant areas they highlight on their tests if you’d like to understand what all this means.
If you just want it fixed as you’re not a web developer then copy the link from your report and send it over. If you have a competent web developer they should be able to address these issues. Since every website is different there isn’t a one-size fits all answer to resolve these issues but thankfully that report spells most of it out for you with references.
Making sure you’re in the 90-100 range across the board is vital to your success online and if you take internet marketing seriously, spend money on advertising with Google or just want to ensure you’re providing the best experience possible for your users, you should make this a priority. If you don’t have the time or prefer to just get a mortgage website that’s already built that way out of the box (and launch it tomorrow), give us a call (323) 870-9996 or contact us for a demo.
